During the past centuries, the chandelier was a prized object. It took centre-stage. The sparkling crystal glass of the chandelier multiplied light in a million magical ways.
The light source evolved from candlelight in the 19th century to electric light bulbs in the 20th century and LED in the 21st century. Lighting can now be created without the source of light being visible. This evokes the desire for the aesthetic opposite: the longing to experience a connection with the source of light.
